DMP Imposes Ban On Gatherings Around CJ Residence, Justice Complex, SC, ICT

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced a ban on all rallies, processions, and public gatherings in areas surrounding major judicial institutions and residences, effective from Friday until further notice.
According to a public notice issued today, no meetings, human chains, sit-ins, or demonstrations will be permitted in front of the Chief Justice’s official residence, Justice Bhaban, Judges Complex, the main gate of the Supreme Court, Mazar Gate, Jame Masjid Gate, the entrances to International Crimes Tribunal 1 and 2, and the Judicial Administration Training Institute.
The order, signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76), cited the need to maintain public order and security. The DMP also urged citizens and protestors not to block roads or disrupt traffic during programmes, calling on all parties to cooperate in preserving law and order in the capital.
