Bengal Group Chairman Morshed Alam has been taken into custody

Former Member of Parliament for Noakhali-2 (Senbagh-Sonaimuri) and Chairman of Bengal Group, Morshed Alam, has been arrested, according to the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. DB Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallick confirmed that Alam was taken into custody on Tuesday night from the Gulshan area in Dhaka. Authorities have filed multiple cases against him, and the DB is currently reviewing the associated information and evidence. In addition to his role as a three-time MP, Morshed Alam previously served as the chairman of Mercantile Bank and is also the venture director of National Life Insurance.
