Bangladesh has delivered the third consignment of humanitarian aid to Myanmar to support those affected by the recent earthquake. The relief materials, handed over by the Bangladesh Embassy in Yangon, reflect the Government of Bangladesh’s continued commitment to assisting its neighbours in times of crisis. Transported by the Bangladesh Navy Ship Somudra Avijan, the consignment included 120 metric tonnes of essential supplies such as tents, food packets, dry rations, drinking water, blankets, clothing, hygiene products, and other necessities. With this shipment, a total of 151 metric tonnes of aid has been provided across three consignments since the earthquake struck on 28 March. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Armed Forces Division, and the Bangladesh Navy jointly coordinated the delivery. A 55-member Search and Rescue (SAR) and medical team was also deployed to Naypyitaw to support ongoing recovery operations. The Chief Minister of Yangon Region received the aid during an official ceremony at Yangon seaport, where 800 additional boxes of hygiene products donated by the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society were handed over to the Myanmar Red Cross Society.
