The interim government has not yet decided to ban any political party, Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder announced at a press briefing this evening at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital.

Addressing a question on the potential removal of the president, Majumder stated that advisers are discussing the issue and aiming to build a political consensus.

Azad also mentioned that the government is in talks with leaders of the anti-dissemination student movement and stakeholders involved in the July-August uprising. "We hope to reach a consensus-driven decision, with the government consulting all political parties," he said.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, speaking at the briefing, referenced Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan’s recent comments on the possible removal of the president, stating that consultations with political parties will continue, and outcomes will be shared once a decision is reached.

In response to a question about the extradition of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Azad noted that there is currently no update on that matter.
