Chief Advisor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus observed the maneuver exercise of an infantry brigade today at the Rajbari Military Training Area. The exercise, organized by the Bangladesh Army’s 55 Infantry Division, was part of the Army Maneuver Exercise 2024-25, according to an ISPR release.

Upon arrival, Prof. Yunus was welcomed by Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M. Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, GOC of the 55 Infantry Division, and the Area Commander of Jashore Area, Major General J.M. Emdadul Islam.

During the hour-long exercise, Bangladesh Army personnel, armed with advanced weapons, successfully conducted an attack simulation in a realistic war environment. The exercise involved all arms and services of the army, including modern tanks, APCs, artillery, infantry, engineers, and commandos.

Additionally, fighter jets from the Bangladesh Air Force, Army Aviation aircraft, and helicopters participated in the exercise. In his closing speech, Prof. Yunus praised the Bangladesh Army as the nation’s pride and trust.

He emphasized the importance of modern, relevant training for the Army to acquire operational skills and stay prepared to defend the nation's sovereignty. Prof. Yunus stressed that training should be realistic to foster operational competency, courage, and professionalism. He commended the army personnel’s skills and high-quality training demonstrated during the exercise. Senior officers of the armed forces and interim government advisers were also present at the event.
