Nigar 'emotional' after first win in 10 years at Women's T20 World Cup
Bangladesh beat Scotland by 16 runs in the first match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 on Thursday (October 3). In the match played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the Nigar Sultana-led side posted a total of 119 runs on the board for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs and then successfully managed to defend it by restricting the Scottish team to 103 for 7. The win over Scotland was Bangladesh’s third win ever in Women’s T20 World Cup history and first one after a decade.
After Bangladesh managed to get the better of Scotland, Nigar Sultana, who was playing her 100th T20I on Thursday (October 3), was seen getting emotional, and several videos of her in tears during the victory celebration are now going viral on the internet.
