Nawshaba's Durga-inspired photoshoot promotes message of communal harmony

In celebration of this year's Durga Puja, actress Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed paid tribute to Goddess Durga through a captivating photoshoot titled Durgar Shomudro (Durga's Ocean). This project, a collaboration between Nawshaba's puppet group, Together We Can, and the photography agency Mr Momentwala, produced both a special photoshoot and video for the occasion. The message conveyed through the project emphasizes that Durga is more than a temple deity; she represents the spirit of every woman. Like the ocean, she is ever-present, symbolizing peace and victory. 

The shoot was directed and photographed by Md Nazmul Hossain, with Nawshaba styled as Goddess Durga by makeup artist Emon Hossen. The video’s music was composed by Ezaz Farah, and cinematography and editing were handled by Emranuzzaman Shohag. Amit Sinha served as the executive producer, with the concept developed collaboratively by Nawshaba and Nazmul Hossain. 

Last year, Nawshaba portrayed Durga in an urban setting, but this time, the sea takes center stage in Durgar Shomudro. Through this portrayal, Nawshaba embraces Durga's essence, promoting religious harmony, raising awareness of marine pollution, and depicting the goddess as a nurturing mother, protector, and savior.
