Khaleda visits Tarique’s home after being released from a UK hospital
BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia visited the residence of her eldest son, Tarique Rahman, last night after being discharged from The London Clinic, where she had been receiving treatment for 17 days.
Khaleda Zia will continue her treatment at home under the supervision of Dr. Patrick Kennedy and Dr. Jennifer Cross from The London Clinic. Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of BNP, accompanied his mother from the hospital to their residence in Kingston, North London.
Tarique’s wife, Zubaida Rahman, and Syeda Shamila Rahman, the wife of Khaleda’s late younger son Arafat Rahman Koko, were also present. On Thursday night, Khaleda’s personal physician, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, stated that the medical board overseeing her treatment had not yet decided on a liver transplant. He added that the next steps would be determined by her age and overall health condition.
Khaleda arrived in London on January 8 for advanced medical treatment and was taken directly to The London Clinic from Heathrow Airport at 11:30 am local time on the same day.
