Khaleda Zia is set to attend a rally after seven years
The BNP Chairperson last spoke at a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on November 12, 2017.
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will attend a rally organized by the Jatiotabadi Muktijoddha Dal on December 21, marking her first rally appearance in nearly seven years.
This will be the first time Begum Khaleda Zia participates in a rally since 2017. She will attend the event as the chief guest at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Center in the capital, in celebration of the Great Victory Day.
According to party sources, BNP Standing Committee Member Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Muktijoddha Dal President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat visited Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan residence on Saturday and invited her to be the chief guest at the rally. She initially agreed to attend. Additionally, party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met with Khaleda Zia later in the evening.
Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP media cell, stated, "If Allah keeps Madam in good health, she will attend the rally." Sources within the BNP media cell confirmed that Khaleda Zia last addressed a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on November 12, 2017, marking Revolution and Solidarity Day.
