Interim government led by Yunus congratulates Trump on his U.S. election victory

Bangladesh’s interim government, led by Prof. Muhammad Yunus, has extended congratulations to Donald Trump on his election as the 47th president of the United States, expressing hopes for enhanced bilateral relations and future collaboration.

“We welcome his victory and hope that Bangladesh-U.S. relations will grow stronger and reach new heights,” stated Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Wednesday evening.

When asked about Trump’s recent remarks on Bangladesh, Alam suggested that Trump might have been misinformed.

Deputy Press Secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder were also present at the briefing.

Trump's victory is seen as a remarkable comeback for a former president who, after refusing to concede four years ago, faced multiple challenges, including a violent Capitol insurrection, felony convictions, and surviving two assassination attempts.
