Former Secretary Amjad and his son have been detained for possessing Tk 11 million in cash
During a raid, police also confiscated foreign currency, 11 iPhones, and several luxury watches

Police have arrested Amjad Hossain Khan, a former additional secretary of local government, rural development, and cooperatives, along with his son Asif Hasan.
The two were apprehended during a raid on a residence in Uttara Sector 13 of Dhaka late Sunday night, as reported by Hafizur Rahman, the chief of Uttara West Police Station.
“A four-hour operation by joint forces at the location resulted in the seizure of Tk 10.95 million in cash, foreign currency, 11 iPhones, and several luxury watches from various brands,” he stated. Legal action is being prepared against them, according to OC Hafizur.
Amjad served as the additional secretary in the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives starting in 2020 and later retired. He is originally from Sadar Upazila in Gazipur.
