9th Pay Scale Gazette Likely to Be Issued Today: Officials

The gazette notification for the new national pay scale for government employees may be issued on Saturday afternoon, officials said.

The Cabinet approved the ninth national pay scale for government employees on 31 August. Although the gazette was expected to be published within a week of the approval, nearly three weeks have passed without its issuance.

Officials said preparations for publishing the notification are now at the final stage. Several officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Bangladesh Government Press (BG Press) has already begun printing the gazette and that it could be issued today, 19 September.

They said all necessary procedures, including vetting by the Law Ministry, have been completed, paving the way for the formal publication of the notification.

The gazette is expected to be officially issued after noon on Saturday, the officials added.
