The prime minister said the fascist regime had devastated key sectors, including education and healthcare
He said the economy had been turned into a “festival of looting” during the period of authoritarian rule.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday said the “fascist regime” had devastated key sectors such as education and healthcare, while stripping people in various professions of their rights.
He made the remarks at a rally in front of the BNP central office in the capital’s Nayapaltan. The prime minister also alleged that the economy had been turned into a “festival of looting” during the period of authoritarian rule.
He emphasised that simply evicting hawkers would not resolve the issue, urging the creation of employment opportunities for them. “If working people can live well, Bangladesh will prosper,” he added.
