Seven more children die showing symptoms of measles
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 677 children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across the country since March 15.
Seven more children, including six in Dhaka, died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours.
During the same period, 887 new cases were reported, according to the latest report released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.
The DGHS said that since March 15, a total of 677 children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms nationwide. Among them, 93 deaths were confirmed as measles-related, while 584 involved children exhibiting symptoms consistent with the disease.
Over the same period, laboratory tests confirmed 10,949 measles infections, while 91,789 people with measles-like symptoms sought treatment at hospitals.
Dhaka division recorded the highest number of infections and deaths, with 304 fatalities linked to measles and measles-like symptoms and 49,783 reported cases.
