Section 144 Lifted in Khagrachhari After 8 Days

The local administration in Khagrachhari has lifted Section 144 after eight days, as law and order returned to normal.

Khagrachhari’s District Commissioner, ABM Iftekharul Islam Khondkar, confirmed the development at 8:30 PM on Saturday.

According to an official statement, the restriction will be lifted at 6:00 AM on Sunday in the district and municipal areas, as the security situation has improved. Section 144 has also been removed in Guimara Upazila.

Earlier, on September 27, Section 144 was imposed in parts of Khagrachhari Sadar following clashes, to maintain public safety in the district, Khagrachhari Municipality, and Guimara Upazila.
