Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul announced today that initiatives are underway to create employment opportunities for Bangladeshis in developed countries, including Japan.

He stated that the government is working to facilitate large-scale employment abroad by offering free training and removing immigration costs.

Dr. Nazrul made these remarks while attending the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry and Japan’s Onodera User Ran Incorporate. The agreement focuses on the training and certification of Bangladeshi workers under Japan’s Specified Skill Workers category.

Present at the event were Dr. Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan, Senior Secretary of the Ministry, Saleh Ahmed Mujaffor, Director General of the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET), and Takato Kawakami, Overseas Business Department Manager of Onodera User Ran Incorporate, who signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

Dr. Nazrul emphasized Japan’s popularity among Bangladeshi job seekers, noting that 695 technical interns have already gone there under the technical training program. He expressed optimism that the new agreement would open doors for sending even more workers to Japan.

He also highlighted that the training will cover a wide range of trades, including caregiving, industrial packaging, plastic molding, rod binding, scaffolding, welding, car painting, and automobile mechanics.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan called the MoU a historic step forward in securing employment for Bangladeshis in Japan. He added that the Ministry is actively working to develop skilled manpower and promote safe migration, in line with the labor demands of developed nations.
