JnU Central Students’ Union polls suspended as students continue protests
The authorities of Jagannath University have announced the suspension of the Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JnUCSU) election.
The decision was made at an emergency syndicate meeting held on Tuesday, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim confirmed. Tuesday had been scheduled as the polling day for the JnUCSU election.
Students have rejected the decision and launched protests on campus. The demonstration began shortly after 9:00am on Tuesday.
As of the filing of this report, protesting students continue their demonstration by encircling the Vice-Chancellor’s building.
