Govt to establish information commission shortly: Information Ministry

The government is set to establish the Information Commission soon, according to an official statement.

"The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has already initiated the process," said a press release from the ministry.

A formal notification regarding the commission's formation is expected within the next few days.

As per the Right to Information Act, 2009, the commission will comprise a Chief Information Commissioner and two Information Commissioners, with at least one of the commissioners being a woman.
