Election Commission issues instructions ahead of 13th parliamentary polls
The Election Commission (EC) today issued a set of directives ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election scheduled for February 12, 2026, according to an official handout.
Under the instructions, government employees residing outside their respective constituencies must register for postal voting via the ‘Postal Vote BD’ app by December 25. Officials assigned to election duties are required to complete their registration through the same app between December 18 and December 25. Meanwhile, voters in law enforcement custody must register for postal voting between December 21 and December 24.
To receive postal ballots, applicants must provide accurate and complete addresses while registering on the ‘Postal Vote BD’ app, in line with the applicable rules of the countries where they are residing. Voters must also mention their workplace address along with the contact details of a known person.
The EC cautioned that postal ballot papers will not be dispatched unless voters submit their current and full addresses.
