Quader and six other Awami League leaders have been charged with crimes against humanity.
The prosecution has submitted formal charges to International Crimes Tribunal-2 against Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader and six other leaders from the party and its affiliated organisations over alleged crimes against humanity.
The co-accused are AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Awami League joint general secretary; Mohammad Ali Arafat, former state minister for information; Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, Jubo League chairman; Moinul Hossain Nikhil, Jubo League general secretary; and Chhatra League leaders Saddam Hossain and Sheikh Wali Asif Inan, its president and general secretary respectively. Prosecutor Gazi Monawar Hossain Tamim confirmed the development to the media today through a text message.
