Chief Adviser’s Principal Secretary calls on youth to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset

Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser, M Siraz Uddin Miah, today urged the youth to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset as a pathway to self-reliance.
“Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus places immense faith in the country’s youth, believing they hold the key to future progress. Cultivating a mindset geared toward entrepreneurship is essential for achieving self-reliance. Once that mindset takes root, skilled young people can generate employment opportunities on their own,” he said.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and prize-giving ceremony held at the Investment Building in Agargaon to mark World Youth Skills Day. The event was organised by the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) and chaired by its Executive Chairman (Secretary) Rehana Perven.
Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam also addressed the gathering as a special guest.
Highlighting the accelerating influence of artificial intelligence (AI), coding, robotics, and cloud technologies on work, education, and everyday life, Siraz Uddin Miah stressed the growing importance of digital fluency.
In light of these global transformations, this year’s World Youth Skills Day is being observed under the theme: ‘Youth Empowerment through AI and Digital Skills’—a theme that reflects the urgent need to equip young people with future-ready capabilities, he noted.
He expressed hope that the youth of Bangladesh would rise to the occasion by embracing cutting-edge skills and contributing to a just, peaceful, and sustainable future.
“As Bangladesh advances on its digital journey, the youth will play a crucial role in building inclusive and resilient communities driven by knowledge and technology,” he added.
Other speakers noted that the NSDA reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing coordination and maintaining standards in national skill development initiatives. They emphasised the goal of building a skilled workforce aligned with the evolving demands of both local and global job markets.
The NSDA was also praised for its continued efforts to eliminate disparities in skill development and uphold quality across the board.
