Chattogram Board Suspends HSC Examinations Indefinitely

Due to disruptions caused by the recent floods, authorities have suspended the remaining HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Education Board until further notice.

A revised examination schedule will be announced later, according to separate notifications issued on Thursday by the Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers' Committee and the Chattogram Education Board.

The suspension applies to the HSC, Alim, Business Management and Technology (BMT), Vocational, and Diploma-in-Commerce examinations. Examinations in other districts not under the jurisdiction of the Chattogram Education Board will continue as scheduled, the notifications said.

The notification was signed by Prof Syed Akteruzzaman, president of the Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers' Committee.

The decision to suspend the examinations in the Chattogram Education Board area was taken after consultations with all relevant stakeholders, it said.

The move takes into account the post-flood conditions in affected areas, damage to roads and transport networks that could hinder students' movement, and concerns over their overall mental and physical wellbeing following the crisis.
