Data collection for the ‘Farmer Card’ initiative begins today

The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has launched a nationwide data collection campaign covering farmers and agricultural land as part of the government’s ‘Farmer Card’ programme, a key pledge in its election manifesto.

According to a press release, the campaign began simultaneously across all upazilas on Saturday.

In the initial phase, one block from each upazila will be selected for data collection. The initiative will later be expanded to cover all blocks in phases.

The decision was taken at the second meeting of the ‘Farmer Card Technical Working Committee’, chaired by the Agriculture Minister at the Ministry of Agriculture. The committee decided that data collection on farmers and agricultural land would be conducted simultaneously in every upazila across the country.
