BNP rally kicks off in Naya Paltan with a massive turnout of supporters
A workers’ rally organised by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has begun at Naya Paltan in the capital, attracting a large turnout of leaders and activists from Dhaka and nearby districts.
The programme officially started at 2:30pm on Friday, with processions beginning after Jumu’ah prayers.
Participants were seen with red caps, T-shirts, banners and drums, creating a lively yet charged atmosphere. Thousands of activists filled the area with slogans and applause, many wearing red caps. BNP Standing Committee Member and labour leader Nazrul Islam Khan said all preparations had been completed despite adverse weather, adding that Tarique Rahman is expected to attend as the chief guest.
“We are anticipating an unprecedented turnout at this workers’ rally,” he said.
