April Records Second-Highest Monthly Remittance Inflow

In April 2025, Bangladesh received \$2.75 billion in remittances, marking the second-highest monthly inflow on record, as per data from Bangladesh Bank. The highest ever remittance inflow was recorded in March at \$3.29 billion.

Expatriates have consistently sent higher amounts since the fall of the autocratic regime last year. For the entire fiscal year 2023-2024 (July to June), remittances totaled \$23.91 billion. Remarkably, in just the first 10 months of the current fiscal year (July 2024 to June 2025), remittance inflows have already exceeded the total for the previous year. April's remittance inflow saw a significant 34.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
