Vandalism disrupts the filming of Hanif Sanket’s 'Ityadi' in Thakurgaon

Filming for the highly popular BTV show "Ityadi," hosted by Hanif Sanket, was called off after a violent altercation and vandalism occurred in Thakurgaon district on Thursday night.

The filming was taking place at the historic Raja Tongkanath Palace in Ranisankail upazila when chaos erupted. A crowd of over 100,000 people gathered, vastly outnumbering the 4,000 entrance passes distributed for the event.

As tensions rose over seating arrangements, a fight broke out, leading to property destruction and equipment vandalism, according to local reports.

Despite repeated efforts by the organizers to restore order, the situation worsened, forcing authorities to cancel the filming before it was completed as scheduled.

A disappointed Hanif Sanket expressed, "Despite my best efforts, I couldn't calm the crowd. I wanted to organize a beautiful event for you, but that was no longer possible. I failed."

After the cancellation, attendees were escorted out of the venue, and some segments of the program were filmed later in the night. However, many attendees, some of whom had traveled long distances, were unable to fully enjoy the event due to its early termination.

An audience member, Anwar Hossain, shared, "I had an entrance pass, but still couldn't get in, all because of the authorities' mismanagement."

Sohel Rana added, "The authorities knew additional visitors would come but failed to make proper security arrangements. This was their mistake. Also, hosting such a large-scale event in such a small venue is not practical."

Masud Alam pointed out, "There has been a lack of discipline from the beginning, mainly due to the authorities' mismanagement."

Arshedul Haque, the officer-in-charge of Ranisankail Police Station, reported that no major injuries were sustained, though a group of youths threw chairs during the disturbance.
