The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights will offer "technical support" to the reform commission established by the interim government if needed.

On Wednesday morning, the leaders of the reform commissions met with Falkar Turk, the visiting United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, at a hotel in the capital.

After the meeting, Iftekharuzzaman, head of the Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commission, told Prothom Alo that they are ready to provide technical assistance if any commission requires it. Additionally, they expressed interest in offering logistical support. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights emphasized the importance of inclusive societies. Iftekharuzzaman, who is also the Executive Director of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), mentioned that discussions with the reform commission leaders included the need for a non-discriminatory society. He noted that unprecedented opportunities have emerged to build a democratic, well-governed, and corruption-free Bangladesh. Furthermore, they discussed the importance of being cautious in addressing the various risks involved in establishing a non-sectarian society that upholds equal rights, regardless of religion, caste, gender, ethnicity, or other forms of diversity, in line with anti-discrimination principles.

Falkar Turk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, arrived in Dhaka yesterday for a two-day visit.
