Trump Signs Executive Order Launching Federally Funded Voluntary Deportation Program

President Donald Trump on Friday signed an executive order establishing a federally funded program to encourage voluntary, permanent departure from the United States. The initiative offers paid airfare and a financial “exit bonus” to undocumented immigrants who choose to leave.

In a statement published on the White House website, Trump characterized the situation as a “full-scale invasion,” accusing undocumented immigrants of contributing to crime and violence across the country.

“Illegal aliens who remain in America will face consequences — including sudden deportation, at a time and place of our choosing,” Trump warned in a Truth Social post. “TO ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS: BOOK YOUR FREE FLIGHT RIGHT NOW!”

The program combines financial incentives with the threat of harsh penalties. Trump warned that those who refuse to self-deport could face severe repercussions, including imprisonment, heavy fines, property seizure, wage garnishment, and forced deportation.

The announcement followed remarks Trump made earlier in the week, where he told reporters, “We’ll pay each one a certain amount and give them a beautiful flight back to where they came from.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem added that the department would administer a $1,000 stipend program, disbursed after an individual's return is verified through the CBP Home app.

In a video message posted Friday, Trump reiterated the program’s offer: “As long as it’s not here, you can go anywhere you want.”
