Prime Minister visits Ramisa’s family, assures justice will be served

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday night visited the home of eight-year-old Ramisa Akter, who was tragically killed earlier this week, to console her grieving parents.
He arrived at the family’s flat in Pallabi, Mirpur, around 9:45pm after attending a cabinet meeting at the secretariat.
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed and Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman, among others, accompanied the prime minister during the visit.
Tarique had earlier expressed deep sorrow over the incident and had been regularly informed about the family’s condition before deciding to visit them later that evening. During the visit, he assured the family that the case would be investigated promptly and properly.
Ramisa, a second-grade student of Popular Model High School in Mirpur, was found dead in a neighbouring flat in the same building on 19 May.
The main accused, Sohel Rana, 34, gave a confessional statement before a court on 20 May, admitting involvement in the incident, according to investigators.
