Prime Minister to pay homage at the Shaheed Minar in the early hours of Ekushey

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will pay homage to the martyrs of the Language Movement at the Central Shaheed Minar at the first hour of Ekushey.

The announcement was made on Friday via the official Facebook page of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) media cell.

According to the media cell, the Prime Minister will lay a wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar at 12:01am on Friday night in observance of Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day 2026. The day honours the language martyrs who sacrificed their lives to defend the Bangla language.
