Prime Minister to Award ‘Ekushey Padak 2026’ on Thursday

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to present the ‘Ekushey Padak 2026’ at a ceremony scheduled for Thursday.

According to an official handout, the award distribution programme will take place at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital at 11:00am on February 26.

The government has already announced the names of nine distinguished individuals and one music band for the country’s second-highest civilian honour, the ‘Ekushey Padak 2026’, in recognition of their outstanding contributions across various fields.

The recipients are: Farida Akhtar Babita (Film), Md Abdus Sattar (Fine Arts), Marina Tabassum (Architecture), Ayub Bachchu (Music), Arthy Ahmed (Dance), Islam Uddin Palakar (Palagan), Shafik Rehman (Journalism), Mahbubul Alam Majumdar (Education), Tejosh Haldar Josh (Sculpture), and Warfaze (Music Band).
