Mirza Fakhrul to Make First Visit to Sylhet as President
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is scheduled to make his first visit to Sylhet since taking office on Tuesday (15 September), with the one-day trip expected to include visits to religious sites and a civic reception.
According to the itinerary, the President will visit the shrines of Hazrat Shah Jalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) after arriving in Sylhet.
Later at 3pm, he is scheduled to attend a civic reception organised by the Sylhet City Corporation (SCC). He is expected to return to Dhaka in the evening after completing the day's engagements.
Preparations for the President's visit are nearing completion across Sylhet. Arches have been installed and decorative lights put up at several locations, while roads and key areas have been cleaned and beautified.
Security has also been strengthened across the city ahead of the visit. The district administration and police have held separate coordination meetings to finalise arrangements.
Special security measures have been taken at the venues, along the President's travel routes and at other key locations. Personnel from the Special Security Force (SSF), President Guard Regiment (PGR), law enforcement agencies and intelligence services have been deployed to ensure the President's safety throughout the visit.
