Kyiv: Massive Russian strike targets Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

A massive Russian assault struck Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, triggering power outages across multiple regions, Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk said on Saturday.

In recent months, Moscow has intensified its attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities, damaging natural gas sites that supply the country’s main heating fuel. Experts warn that such strikes could lead to widespread heating disruptions as winter approaches.

“The enemy is once again launching large-scale attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure,” Grynchuk wrote on social media. “As a result, emergency power outages have been introduced in several regions. These will be lifted once the energy system stabilizes.”

She added, “Despite the enemy’s intentions, Ukraine will have light and heat this winter.”

Throughout its nearly four-year invasion, Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s power and heating networks, severely damaging critical civilian infrastructure.

Meanwhile, drones struck energy facilities in Ukraine’s southern Odesa region late Friday, regional governor Oleg Kiper said on Telegram. “There was damage to an energy infrastructure facility,” he confirmed, adding that no casualties were reported.

Ukraine, in turn, has ramped up drone attacks on Russian oil depots and refineries in recent months, aiming to disrupt Moscow’s energy exports and create domestic fuel shortages.
