Government to procure vaccines under the EPI programme using the DPM method

The government today gave in-principle approval to a proposal to procure vaccines used under the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) for the current fiscal year (FY26) by following the Direct Procurement Method (DPM).

The decision was taken at the first meeting of the Advisers’ Council Committee on Economic Affairs of the year, held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at the Bangladesh Secretariat, with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presiding.

The procurement will be carried out under the project titled “Loan 4078 (COL)/4079-BAN: Responsive COVID-19 Vaccines for Recovery Project under the Asia Pacific Vaccines Access Facility (APVAX).”

The proposal was placed before the committee by the Health Services Division. Following discussions, the committee recommended it for approval in principle.
