Government Committed to Meeting Public Expectations: PM

Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today said his government remains firmly committed to meeting the expectations and aspirations of the country's people.

“The present government is administering the state in line with the ideals and philosophy of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. Our primary objective is to realise the hopes and aspirations of the people through the implementation of our election manifesto,” he said.

Tarique made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion held at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) auditorium in the capital this afternoon.

The programme was organised by the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to commemorate the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

The Prime Minister said the government's manifesto has evolved beyond being solely the BNP's platform and now represents the aspirations of the people.

“We are obliged to fulfil the expectations of those who cast their votes in support of this manifesto. Guided by the principles and direction laid down by Ziaur Rahman, we have undertaken various programmes and are running the country accordingly,” he said.
