Gold prices have risen once again in Bangladesh’s domestic market, with the price of 22-carat gold increasing by Tk5,482 per bhori.

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced that the new price of 22-carat gold, including VAT, has been set at Tk246,110 per bhori. The revised rate came into effect at 10am on Saturday.

In a notice, BAJUS said the latest adjustment was made in response to the overall market situation and a rise in the price of refined gold in the local market.

Under the new pricing structure, 22-carat gold will cost Tk246,110 per bhori (11.664 grams), including VAT. The price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk235,030 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk201,846 per bhori. Gold sold under the traditional system will be priced at Tk164,812 per bhori.

BAJUS said the revised rates will remain in effect at jewellery shops across the country until further notice.

The association last revised gold prices on August 20, when the price of 22-carat gold was increased by Tk3,849 per bhori to Tk240,628, including VAT.
