Education Minister warns: Keep CCTV cameras operational during exams or face action

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has instructed that CCTV cameras must remain active in all examination halls during the upcoming SSC and equivalent exams, warning of strict action if they are switched off for any reason.

He issued the directive on Saturday while addressing a meeting with centre secretaries of the Rajshahi Education Board and the Madrasa Education Board in the Rajshahi region, ahead of the SSC and equivalent examinations-2026, which began at 11:00am.

The minister said all examination centres will be brought under CCTV surveillance and directed institutions without such facilities to install them দ্রুত, adding that the government would provide financial support if needed.

Highlighting accountability, he stated that any irregularities at exam centres will ultimately be the responsibility of the centre secretary, regardless of who is directly involved.

Criticising unethical practices among some teachers, he said many are more focused on earning money through board-related work than on classroom teaching, stressing that this mindset must change or face strict consequences.

He also warned of tough measures against institutions where no students pass, adding that those with only a very small number of examinees may not be allowed to continue operating.
