Bangladesh–China collaboration in skills development strengthened as BCCCI signs MoU
The Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Beijing Ark Galaxy Technology Co., Ltd. and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in vocational education, skills development, and human resource capacity building between Bangladesh and China.
The MoU was formalized on Saturday at the BCCCI office in Gulshan, Dhaka, aiming to establish a long-term and sustainable framework for collaboration between Bangladesh’s vocational institutions and leading technical and vocational organizations in China.
Under the agreement, the parties will collaborate on technical training programs, institutional exchanges, technology transfer, and capacity-building initiatives. This partnership is expected to play a key role in workforce modernization and industrial growth in both countries by aligning skills development with emerging industry needs.
The signing ceremony was attended by BCCCI President Mohd Khorshed Alam, General Manager of Beijing Ark Galaxy Technology Co., Ltd. Yue Xueshan, and Deputy General Manager of CCECC Bangladesh Ltd. Lu Yong.
Representing BCCCI were Secretary General Jamilur Rahman, Presidential Advisor Md Faizul Alam, Vice Presidents Khandaker Atiqur Rahman and Masud Ali Khan, Director Asif Haque Rupo, Executive Director Md Abu Taher, and Dr. Md Sadi, Principal of Yidai Yilu Chinese Institute.
Officials highlighted that the presence of senior representatives from all organizations underscored the growing momentum in Bangladesh–China cooperation in education, industry, and workforce development. They noted that the MoU reflects a mutual commitment to deepening bilateral ties and promoting sustainable economic growth through the development of a skilled and competitive workforce.
The agreement is being seen as a significant milestone in strengthening institutional linkages and fostering long-term partnerships that support inclusive development and enhance industrial competitiveness.
