Stock market shows upward momentum with Tk 192 crore traded in the first hour today

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s leading capital market, saw an upward trend in the first hour of trading on Tuesday, with transactions reaching Tk 192 crore by 11 am.

DSE data shows that 5.51 crore shares and mutual fund units were traded through 56,675 transactions during this time. Out of 393 companies participating, 223 experienced share price increases, 83 saw declines, and 76 remained stable.

The main index, DSEX, rose by 20.98 points to 5,354.41, indicating positive investor sentiment. The DSES Shariah Index, which monitors Shariah-compliant stocks, gained 2.43 points to reach 1,197.73, while the DS30 Index, consisting of blue-chip stocks, advanced by 8.29 points to 1,985.74.
