On Sunday afternoon, local Indians under the banner of the Sanatani Hindu Samaj staged an anti-Bangladesh protest near the Bilonia border in Feni, within Indian territory.

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officially protested the incident to the Indian Border Security Force (BSF), according to BGB-4 Feni Battalion Captain Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mosharaf Hossain, who confirmed the matter to Prothom Alo.

A video clip of the incident surfaced on social media around 1:00 am on Monday. Witnesses reported that a group of 50-60 Indian citizens held demonstrations from the afternoon until the evening on the Indian side of the border. They chanted slogans in support of ISKCON while criticizing Bangladesh’s interim government. The protesters also demanded the cessation of electricity and goods exports from India to Bangladesh. At one point, they entered the no man’s land and directed their microphone toward Bangladeshi territory. BSF personnel later intervened to disperse the crowd.

Bilonia resident MA Hasan condemned the derogatory slogans against interim government Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, calling for prompt action from the government. He noted that such protests along the border are highly unusual and urged the BGB to act swiftly.

BGB Mazumdarhat BOP Company Commander Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain stated that the BGB had lodged an official objection with the BSF. A BSF commander was summoned, and they assured the BGB of taking measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
