BCL leader Sushmita detained while traveling to India

Bangladesh Chhatra League leader Sushmita Pandey was arrested while attempting to travel to India via the Benapole International Checkpost. Her brother, Satyajit Pandey, was also detained at the time.
Sushmita, the former organizing secretary of the Dhaka Eden College branch of Chhatra League, had submitted her passport to immigration officials for travel to India for medical treatment. Immigration Police Inspector (Investigation) Ibrahim Hossain stated that during the passport check, it was discovered that she had previously been banned from leaving the country.
According to the inspector, Sushmita is accused in a murder case registered at Dhaka's New Market Police Station. She was transferred to Benapole Port Police Station and would later be moved to New Market Police Station.
