Security tightened around diplomatic zones following threatening emails
The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh alerted the Police Headquarters to the threat through the Foreign Ministry last week.
The government has stepped up security measures around diplomatic missions in the capital’s Gulshan and Baridhara areas following threatening emails sent by unidentified individuals.
As part of the enhanced security arrangements, additional law enforcement personnel, including both uniformed and plainclothes officers, have been deployed in the areas. The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh notified the Police Headquarters of the threat through the Foreign Ministry last week.
The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit is investigating the incident under the direction of the Police Headquarters.
