'Free Internet Day' observed today to mark July Uprising Day

To commemorate the July Uprising Day, the Posts and Telecommunications Division has declared July 18 as 'Free Internet Day'.
As part of the initiative, all mobile phone subscribers in the country will receive 1 GB of free data, valid for five days. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has directed all mobile operators to implement this measure.
The announcement was made through a notification issued on Wednesday by BTRC’s System and Services Department. The notification stated that in alignment with public interest and the spirit of the July Uprising, telecom operators were instructed on July 9 to provide 1 GB of free internet to each user on July 18.
