EC Plans to Use Schools, Colleges’ CCTV Cameras for National Polls
The EC has sought information from educational institutions designated to serve as polling centres.
The Election Commission (EC) plans to utilize existing CCTV cameras installed in schools and colleges as surveillance equipment at polling centres during the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election.
To implement the plan, the EC has sought information from educational institutions designated as polling centres.
According to a directive signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md Nasir Uddin Chowdhury on Thursday, field-level election officials have been instructed to prepare a list of polling centres that already have CCTV cameras installed.
The directive further stated that officials must submit both hard and soft copies of the list, in the prescribed format, by November 12.
