BCB withdraws Mustafizur Rahman’s IPL NOC citing security concerns
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously issued to national fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL), citing security concerns.
In an official move, the BCB said the NOC has been cancelled with immediate effect, barring Mustafizur from travelling to India for the IPL under any circumstances. The board also confirmed that the player has been formally notified of the decision.
According to sources, the withdrawal will remain in force even if IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) revises or changes its position regarding Mustafizur’s involvement. The BCB has made it clear that the decision is final and has been taken solely on security considerations.
The development follows growing concerns over player safety, with the board prioritising the well-being of its cricketers. The BCB is expected to issue a formal press release explaining the reasons behind revoking the NOC.
Earlier, the BCB had also decided not to send the Bangladesh team to India for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup due to security reasons.
