In Kishoreganj district town, the Awami League office was demolished with a bulldozer, former President Abdul Hamid’s residence was set on fire, and a sculpture was vandalized. According to Abdullah Al Mamun, chief of Sadar Model Police Station, the arson attack took place around 8 PM on Thursday, carried out by agitated students and activists of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

When police arrived at the scene, they found no one present. Deputy Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Abu Zar Giffari stated that although firefighters responded to the blaze, locals had already brought it under control.

Witnesses reported that around 8 PM, enraged students and activists from the movement gathered in front of the Awami League office on Station Road with a bulldozer. They first demolished the office before setting it on fire.

The group then moved to the Kharampatty area, where they torched and vandalized former President Hamid’s residence.

For security reasons, the electricity supply was cut off during the incident.

Later in the evening, local BNP activists used a bulldozer to demolish the ‘Chetona-71’ sculpture—featuring murals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the four national leaders—at Binnati intersection on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab regional highway.
