BTRC is making efforts to lower the cost of internet access, according to the Chairman
BTRC has issued a warning that no monopolistic practices will be permitted in the country’s telecommunications sector.
Maj Gen (ret) Emdad Ul Bari, chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC), stated that the commission is focused on reducing internet access costs to enhance digital services across the country.
"The price of internet access should be as affordable as water. To broaden the digital service network, we must lower internet access costs. We are actively working towards this goal," he remarked.
Speaking at a roundtable discussion in the Tejgaon area of Dhaka on Monday, the BTRC chairman emphasized that no monopolistic practices will be tolerated in the country's telecommunications sector.
He added that the regulatory authority will take action against any company that attempts to dominate the sector.
