5.9-Magnitude Earthquake Hits China’s Qinghai Province
A shallow 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck central China’s Qinghai province early Wednesday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres in a mountainous rural area, around 269 kilometres southeast of Dunhuang city.
China’s Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) recorded the tremor at magnitude 5.6, state news agency Xinhua reported.
