Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker has thanked Bangladeshi fans for their unwavering support, saying Brazil's players deeply appreciate the affection they receive from the country and adding, "We Brazilians love you."
"Yes, I have seen the videos. I want to say thank you to all the people of Bangladesh for supporting us. We Brazilians love you. Thank you. God bless you," Alisson said.
Brazilian midfielder Casemiro also expressed his gratitude to Bangladeshi supporters following Brazil's dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Japan national football team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32.
"Thank you so much for the support, Bangladesh," he said.
Brazil secured their place in the Round of 16 after rallying from behind to beat Japan in Houston on Monday, 29 June.
After the match, both players acknowledged the passionate support they continue to receive from Bangladeshi fans, many of whom stayed up late into the night to cheer on the five-time world champions.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Alisson Becker smiled when he learned the journalists were from Bangladesh and responded with a thumbs-up before sharing his message of thanks.
Brazil had to overcome an early setback after Japan went ahead in the 29th minute through Kaishu Sano. Casemiro equalised in the 54th minute before Gabriel Martinelli netted a dramatic stoppage-time winner in the sixth minute of added time to complete the comeback and send Brazil into the last 16.
Brazil's immense popularity in Bangladesh has long been a defining feature of the country's football culture, with thousands of supporters gathering to watch the Seleção during major international tournaments.
