Three Killed as Bus Crashes Into Stationary Covered Van in Feni
Three Killed as Covered Van and Bus Collide on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway
Three people were killed and another injured after a bus rammed into a stationary covered van from behind in the Muhuriganj area of Feni on Friday morning.
The accident occurred around 7am in front of Daulatpur Government Primary School on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, police said.
The deceased were the covered van’s driver and helper and the bus driver. Their identities could not be confirmed immediately.
Abu Noman, a sub-inspector at Fazilpur Highway Police Station, said the covered van had broken down and was parked on the Chattogram-bound lane. Workers were attempting to tow it by attaching it to a long vehicle when a Unique Paribahan bus, travelling at high speed from behind, crashed into it.
The covered van’s driver and helper and the bus driver died on the spot, the police official said.
The injured person was rescued and taken to Feni 250-bed General Hospital for treatment.
Fazilpur Highway Police recovered the bodies and sent them to the morgue of Feni 250-bed General Hospital.
Police said the three vehicles involved in the accident were seized.
